The village of Alsip has settled a lawsuit that alleged Mayor Patrick Kitching made unwanted sexual advances toward the suburb's treasurer, records show.
Alsip agreed to pay Elizabeth Gonzalez, the suburb's former treasurer, $120,000 to settle a lawsuit she filed in October 2014 alleging Kitching made unwanted sexual advances toward her and left cards on her desk.
The settlement agreement, dated July 8, notes that it is not an admission "of any fault, wrongdoing, or liability whatsoever."
Court records show Alsip denied the allegations. Kitching did not return messages seeking comment. The $120,000 will be paid by the village's insurance company, the settlement agreement states.
